The holiday season is usually hectic for the New York Philharmonic, and this year the orchestra's December schedule has been particularly diffuse, with ''Messiah'' performances, chamber performances and a pair of ''Contact!'' concerts built around H. Franz Schubert (31. januar 1797 – 19. november 1828) var en østrigsk komponist og pianist.
Ud over liederne skrev Schubert mesterværker inden for symfonier, klavermusik, kammermusik og kirkelige korværker.
