Djibouti er et land beliggende i det østlige Afrika.

I det 19. århundrede etablerede Frankrig et protektorat i området kaldet Fransk Somaliland, ledet af Léonce Lagarde. I 1967 blev navnet ændret til Det franske Afar- og Issa-territorium. Den 27. juni 1977 fik landet sin selvstændighed som Djibouti.

En borgerkrig ledet af rebeller fra Afarstammen i de tidlige 1990'ere blev stoppet med en fredsaftale i 1994.
