Kairo (arabisk: القاهرة; al-Qāhirah, på dansk også hyppigt, men fejlagtigt: Cairo), som betyder den "triumferende", er Egyptens hovedstad med et indbyggertal på ca. 7.947.121 i byens centrum og omkring 16.078.877 medregnet forstæder, hvilket gør byen til Afrikas folkerigeste og verdens 16.-største.
